?The KLH Model Forty-One (41) is a vintage three-head, four-track stereo open-reel tape deck manufactured around 1969 to 1972. It is highly notable for being one of the earliest consumer reel-to-reel decks to integrate built-in Dolby B noise reduction technology. This allowed users to make high-fidelity, hiss-free recordings at slower speeds.? according to Google AI. Overall appearance is excellent. Wood cabinet is solid with original finish, needs only polish. Only blemish is a tiny chip rear edge top. Front panel excellent, markings excellent. Back is excellent. Labels are excellent. Original power cord is very good. Chassis is clean, no rust. Powers on, left VU meter lights and capstan turning. Shift to Play, pinch roller engages and slows capstan to a stop, left VU meter light goes out. Shift to Rewind, left spool shifts and slows capstan to a stop. Shift to Fast Forward, right spool shifts and slows capstan to a stop. A and B LEDS work when buttons depressed. Stretched drive belt? Sold as-is for restoration or parts. Manual included. Approximate size 14.25"W, 7"D, 12"H. Item #10797
