Hallicrafters 8R40 Commercial Receiver. Standard broadcast band + 3 bands covering 1.7 through 44MC. Overall appearance is very good considering the age. Black painted metal case has the usual signs of age, no significant rust. Needs cleaning. Grille is very good but missing logo. Front panel markings excellent. Dial and dial cover are excellent. Chrome surround has minor pitting, some rust on the sides. Original power cord is very good, slightly stiff. Label in top cover is very good. Chassis is a little dirty and numerous small rust spots. In a brief test with just a 15' wire antenna the only station I got was WWV at 2.5MC but the dial was a bit off. Test kept brief because there is some hum. Missing 1 foot. Approximate size 18.5"W, 10.5"D, 9"H. Amateur HAM Item #9677
